Semanticore

from Below the Narrows by Granite Waves

/

about

This started out with the intro and chorus riffs by John with Ben adding the odd time verse part inspired by Black Sabbath and King Crimson. As the song was some what of a mangled beast so it was named after the mighty mythical Manticore with a little twist, a play on words referencing how easy it is to want to be right and win arguments. The semantic Manticore will eat your hypocrisy!!!

lyrics

talking heads and babbling brooks
leading us nowhere

core of argument seen as verbal coals
stoked by the need to be the right one
even though right becomes wrong
when picking only one side

three sides to every coin
even more in every story told

talking heads and babbling brooks
leading us know where

the core of meaning burns brightly in our eyes
we each try to describe what it means to be something
but it becomes only a soft echo
the true deep intentions only resonate beyond the words

three sides to every coin
even more in every story told
truth and lies hold meaning in disguise
under masks of interpretation

Semanticore
hungry for more
of your hypocrisy
