Death by Eagles

from Below the Narrows by Granite Waves

/

about

Metaphorical romp through the eyes of an eagle inspired by the NSA stories and wrapped up in the American flag. The end was initially the beginning and was inspired by a Jane's Addiction style pick riff on bass. As the song morphed it Frankensteined along into something completely different.

lyrics

eagles scream and fly
rule with beak and claw
talons rip through fashion
by selling stars for fuel
for red white and blue

blue is the new outlaw
as eagles soar
with satellite eyes

recording patterns
for something greater
to analyze and enhance
or die by the claw
for red white and blue

blue is the new outlaw
as eagles soar
with satellite eyes

ripped away
chained to the rock
of your incarceration
every day the eagle soars back
to eat my liver for the fire theft
